The petitioner claims that he was a street vendor, who has been displaced by the respondent no.4/Nagar Palika Parishad, Nainital. Respondent no.4/Nagar Palika Parishad, Nainital had, on 08.10.2024, resolved that street vendor licenses shall be issued to other persons also, whose livelihood is street vending. But it is argued that this resolution has not given effect. Heard. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the respondent no.4 is not following the resolution. The petitioner has already made a representation to the respondent no.4, which has yet not been decided. Learned counsel for the respondent no.4 would submit that the street vendors’ licenses were issued to such persons, who had earlier been issued licenses. He would submit that the representation that has been given by the petitioners shall be decided within a period of four weeks. The petition is disposed of with the directions to the respondent no.4/Nagar Palika Parishad, Nainital, that if such representation(s) is made by the petitioners, the same shall be decided within a period of four weeks by the respondent no.4/Nagar Palika Parishad, Nainital, in accordance with the law/guidelines.
