The petitioner is stated to be an under trial, in a case arising out of FIR No. 36/2024 for offences under Section 8/15 of the NDPS Act, in the Court of Principal Sessions Judge, Kulgam (“Trial Court” for short). He came to be charged by the Trial Court on 23.10.2024. Grievance put forth by the petitioner is that till date, learned Trial Court has examined two prosecution witnesses only, out of 21 cited in the calendar. 2. After brief submissions, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he will be satisfied, if Trial Court is directed to expedite the trial. 3. Having regard to the limited nature of controversy involved and the relief sought for, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to learned Trial Court to fix appropriate calendars and conclude the trial with expedition. 4.
