CRM (NDPS) 1197 of 2025
In Re: An Application for Bail under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023/ Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 in connection with N Case No. 106/2024 FIR No. 725/2024 dated 20.10.2024, Amdanga Police Station under sections 20(b)(ii)(C)/25/29 of the NDPS Act, 1985;
And In the matter of : Dinabandhu Roy @ Dinu @ Benu
……Petitioner.
Mr. Durgesh Singh
……for the Petitioner.
Mr. Antarikhya Basu
Ms. Madhumita Basak
……for the State.
Records of the case reflect that there was seizure of 467.18 Kgs. of Ganja from two persons. The call data records reflect that the petitioner was constantly in touch with the persons from whose possession the contraband has been recovered. There is a money trail also involved as is reflected from the records. Witness action has started and 4 witnesses have also been examined. Having regard to the stage of the case as also the quantity of seizure effected, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail.
2 Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner in CRM (NDPS) 1197 of 2025 is dismissed. All parties shall act in terms of server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
