Coram: Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjay Dhar, Judge ORDER 22.05.2025 1. In pursuance to order dated 19.02.2025, affidavit has been filed by the Secretary to the Government Power Development Department. Along with the affidavit, a copy of the Government Order No. 73-JK(PDD) of 2025 dated 20.05.2025 has been annexed. As per the said Government Order, the impugned Government Order dated 02.05.2023, has been modified by according sanction to allow the Managing Director, JKSPDC to utilize 25 posts at the level of Assistant Executive Engineer (Electric) and 25 posts at the level of Assistant Engineer (Electric) in addition to posts allocated for the JKSPDC vide the impugned Government Order dated 02.05.2023 for P a g e | 2 WP(C) No. 696/2024 promotion of in-service JKSPDC Engineers in order to overcome their stagnation. 2. With the issuance of the aforesaid Government order, the grievance of the petitioners qua relief prayed for at para (i) and (ii) of the writ petition stands satisfied. 3. Learned Senior counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners has submitted that now the petitioners are only interested in their expeditious consideration for promotion at this stage. 4. In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of by providing that the respondents shall take expeditious steps for according promotion to higher posts to the petitioners and other officers in accordance with the rules, provided they fulfill the relevant criteria/eligibility. This shall, however, be without prejudice to the rights of the private respondents to challenge the Government Order dated 20.05.2025 (supra), if they so desire. 5.
