Petitioners have approached this Court for protection. According to them, they are in love since last 2 years and now they want to get married; however, father and other family members of petitioner No. 1 are opposing their relationship and they are extending threat to the petitioners. 3. Petitioners appeared before this Court and stated that there is grave threat to their life on account of their relationship. They further submit that they intend to get married within a week, provided protection is granted to them. 4. Learned State Counsel submits that since both are major and they have decided to live together as husband and wife, therefore, he has no objection if protection is granted to the petitioners. 5. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of directing the Station House Officer, Police Station Kotwali Bazpur, District Udham Singh Nagar to provide protection to petitioners for a period of 6 weeks to ensure that no harm is caused to them by private respondents or any other person acting at 2025:UHC:4170-DB their behest. Upon expiry of 6 weeks, the SHO concerned shall make fresh assessment of threat perception of petitioners and take such steps, as are felt necessary. 6.
