Whiledisposing of a petition bearing number WP(C) 603/2025 titled “Ashiq Khan And Another vs. UT of Jammu and Kashmir and Ors.”vide order dated 02-04-2025, Court of learned 1st Additional Sessions Judge, Baramulla, was directed to dispose of the criminal case titled “State Through P/S Uri vs. Sadiq Khan And Ors.” bearing case FIR No. 11/2017 of P/S Uri in accordance with the law preferably within a period of three months. 2. The learned Trial Court has made a submission to this Court through the Registry vide his communication No. 134/1stADSJ/BLA dated 15-09-2025 for extension of time of at least three months so as to enable it to dispose of the case concerned, on the grounds that the presiding officer of the Court has joined on 04-03-2025 as Additional District and Sessions Judge, Baramulla, having additional charge of the Trial Court. That his own Court stands designated as Special Court for trial of rape cases when the Court of 1st Additional Sessions Judge, Baramulla, also under his charge has been designated Special Court for trial of cases under PC Act, thus being grossly overburdened. 3. The Registry has accordingly submitted the said communication of the learned Trial Court through the medium of the instant CM No. 6504/2025 for appropriate orders. 4. In the light of the perusal of the communication of the learned Trial Court, three months’ further time is granted by way of last and final extension to the learned Trial Court to dispose of the case concerned under law. 5.
