This contempt proceeding has been initiated by the complainant keeping in the provision under section 12 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 read with Rule 3 of the Contempt of Courts(Manipur High Court) Rules, 2019 for initiating this contempt proceeding against the respondents/accused for willful disobedience of the orders rendered by the Co-ordinate Bench in WP(C)No.389 of 2019 dated 13.05.2019. JOHN TELEN KOM Digitally signed by JOHN TELEN KOM Date: 2025.06.05 11:26:57 +05'30' 2 Whereas the learned counsel for the respondents in the rank of parties in this contempt proceeding are submitting a memo and also produced an order dated 29.05.2025 which has been issued by the Commissioner(Home), Government of Manipur and this order consists of para 1 to 6 but in para 5 indicating that in compliance of the Hon’ble High Court’s order dated 13.05.2019 passed in WP(C)No.389 of 2019, the Governor of Manipur is pleased to order that the claim of the petitioner is devoid of merit and found untenable under the existing law as the petitioner had been compensated reasonably as per extended rule in connection with death of her husband and further payment for the same purpose cannot be acceded to. This order dated 29.05.2025 rendered by the competent authority has been filed by the aforesaid learned counsel for the respondents/accused and the same has been taken on record. However, the learned counsel for the complainant in this matter submitting that the order rendered by the Co-ordinate Bench in the aforesaid writ proceeding has been complied with by the respondents/accused. Therefore, keeping in view the submission made by the learned counsel for the complainant as well as the order dated 29.05.2025 rendered by the competent authority, it is deemed appropriate that this contempt proceeding would be closed.
