In the present petition, the petitioner is praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to release the arrears of pensionary benefits i.e. gratuity and leave encashment in view of the amendment in the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that a legal notice dated 26.05.2025 (Annexure P-5) has been served upon the respondents, however, no decision has been taken thereupon. He furhter submits, on instructions from the petitioners, that at this stage, he will be satisfied if a direction is given to respondent No.4 to decide the legal notice dated 26.05.2025 (Annexure P-5) in a time bound manner.
