In the present case, there is a recovery of 2200 loose intoxicant tablets from the petitioner. As per the Forensic Science Laboratory report, 152 grams of Alprazolam was detected in 1200 loose tablets and 197 grams of Tramadol was detected in 1000 loose tablets recovered from the peti- tioner. Recovery of 152 grams of Alprazolam effected from the posses- sion of the petitioner is commercial in nature, being more than the prescribed threshold of 100 grams under the NDPS Act. It is noticed that after dismissal of the plea of bail on 18.09.2023 by the Court of Sessions, five bail petitions earlier filed by the petitioner before this Court have not been accepted. Thus, this is the sixth petition filed by the petitioner for seeking concession of regular bail. 4. It is further noticed that a detailed order has already been passed by the Coordinate Bench of this Court vide order dated 24.01.2024, passed in CRM-M-54442-2023, titled as “Surinder Kumar v. State of Punjab” (P-4). Therefore, this Court does not find any substantial reason to reconsider the plea of bail. However, on being informed by learned State counsel that out of total 12 prosecution witnesses, 03 witnesses have already been given up, it is expected that the trial would be concluded in the near future. 5. Custody certificate dated 24.03.2026, filed by learned State counsel today in Court, is taken on record. Office to tag the same at the ap- propriate place. A copy thereof has also been handed over to learned counsel for the petitioner. 6. Heard and perused the relevant material available on record. In the given facts and circumstances of the case, it is found that the petitioner is aged about 36 years and, as per the custody certificate, he is not found involved in any other case of a similar nature. Besides, he has suf- fered incarceration inside the jail for a period of 02 years, 09 months and 05 days, up to 24.03.2026. Therefore, learned trial Court is directed to conclude the trial expeditiously, preferably within a period of four months from today. Failing which, it would be open for the petitioner to file a fresh bail petition, by highlighting the merits of the case. 8. Petition stands dismissed, at this stage.
