Bhuyan, learned counsel for the petitioners; Ms. G. Hazarika, learned Standing Counsel, Revenue & Disaster Management Department for the respondent no. 1; Mr. N. Goswami, learned Junior Government Advocate, Assam for the respondent nos. 2 - 5. 2. The petitioners have approached this Court by the instant writ petition with a grievance that their application for Sale Permission/No Objection Certificate [NOC] is pending since 01.11.2024. 3. When the writ petition was listed on 10.02.2025, Mr. Goswami, learned Junior Government Advocate, Assam was asked to obtain instruction by today as to whether the application has been disposed of or is pending as on date. Today, Mr. Goswami has submitted, on instruction received from the District Commissioner, Sribhumi, that the application submitted by the petitioners for Sale Permission/NOC has been rejected due to mismatch of names in the affidavit and due to lack of sufficient documents. Mr. Goswami has submitted that he will furnish a copy of the rejection order to Mr. Bhuyan, learned counsel for the Page No.# 3/3 petitioners during the course of the day. 4. As the application submitted by the petitioners for Sale Permission/NOC has been rejected by the jurisdictional District Commissioner, Sribhumi, the writ petition is closed, reserving the liberty to the petitioners to assail the rejection order, if so advised.
