1. Mr. Arshid Andrabi, learned counsel for the petitioners has drawn the attention of this Court to Annexure-V, which is a representation submitted by the petitioners before the respondents, seeking release of compensation for the diminution in land value of the area falling under the alignment of the High Power Transmission Line for the Kishen Ganga Power Project, Bandipora, along with damages for crops and trees.
2. It is submitted that since the aforementioned representation has neither been considered nor decided by the respondents, the petitioners have been constrained to file the present writ petition.
3. This Court, vide order dated 02.04.2025, issued notice to the respondents. However, till date, the respondents have failed to file any reply.
4. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners would feel satisfied if the present writ petition is disposed of at this stage
with a direction to respondents to consider the representation of the petitioners placed on record as Annexure-V, and decide the same in accordance with law within a reasonable time frame.
5. Mr. Ilyas Nazir Laway, learned Government Advocate, on the asking of the Court, appears on behalf of the respondents and submits that he is not averse to the disposal of the writ petition in the manner proposed by the petitioners’ counsel. However, he submits that the representation shall be considered strictly in accordance with the rules and the law applicable in the field.

In view of the above and with the consent of learned counsel for the parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal and is accordingly disposed of with a direction to respondents, more particularly to the respondent No.4, to consider and decide the petitioners’ representation placed on record (Annexure-V), strictly in accordance with law, after due application of mind and by affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners, within a period of four weeks’ from the date a copy of this order along with writ petition and annexures are served upon the respondents.
7. It is further directed that a copy of the consideration order, once passed, be forwarded to the petitioners’ counsel through registered post.
8. The writ petition, along with the connected miscellaneous application/s, stands disposed of in the above terms.
