The petitioner has been made accused in connection with NDPS Case No. 24/2022 arising out of NCB Crime No. 03/NCB/RANCHI/2022 for the offences registered under Sections 20(b) (ii) (C), 25/29 of N.D.P.S. Act, 1985, pending in the court of learned Additional Judicial Commissioner-III, Ranchi. Bail Application of the petitioner was earlier rejected by this Court vide B.A. No.9744 of 2023 by order dated 07.12.2023. On 19.05.2022, petitioner and co-accused persons were apprehended by NCB, Ranchi from a place near- Namkum, while transporting 204 kgs of cannabis on a Ashok Leyland Truck bearing registration No. OD-O7AE-2277. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that co-accused Sonam Kumar has been granted bail by this Court vide B.A. No.142 of 2025 and the case of the petitioner stands on similar footing. From the perusal order granting bail co-accused Sonam Kumar, it appears that his name has come in confession of apprehended co-accused persons. The petitioner was apprehended while transporting commercial quantity of cannabis. In view of the aforesaid facts, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail.
