Side) for R2 to R5 ***** O R D E R This writ petition has been filed for a direction, directing the respondents to provide police protection to the petitioner and to his shop, during the 'Car Festival' of Lord Nataraja, to conduct the petitioner's customary poojas, when the idol is being taken from its sanctum sanctorum through the Keezhasannathi to the Car stationed at Keezhaveethi, Chidambaram. 2/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.No.19263 of 2024 2. On instructions, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents 2 to 5 submitted that on the complaint lodged by the petitioner, already two FIRs have been registered against the Nataraja Temple in Chidambaram. Both the FIRs are pending for investigation. 3. In view of the above submission, the police protection cannot be provided to the petitioner and his shop. However, whenever the Lord Nataraja is being taken from his sanctum sanctorum through Keezhasannathi to the Car stationed at Keezhaveethi, the petitioner will be provided the police protection for conducting the customary poojas. Therefore, the 4th respondent is directed to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner, when the idol of Lord Nataraja is being taken from its sanctum sanctorum through the Keezhasannathi to the Car stationed at Keezhaveethi to perform the customary poojas. The 5th respondent is directed to complete the investigation and file a final report in Crime Nos.2381 of 2020 and 909 of 2021, within a period of twelve(12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.No.19263 of 2024 4.
