The matter was listed for 11.09.2026 and is taken up today as 11.09.2026 was declared as a holiday on account of BRICS Summit, 2026. 1. The instant petition has been filed for the following reliefs:
“1. Issue an interim order/mandamus directing the Respondent(s) to forthwith unblock/activate the business mobile number +91- 9324366158 and direct the telecom service provider to restore full services until the final disposal of this petition;
2. Issue an interim order/mandamus directing the Respondent(s) to forthwith remove the freeze/defreeze the bank account No. 001105030338 maintained with ICICI Bank, SV Road, Andheri West, Mumbai and/or in the alternative to restrain the bank from immobilising the entire account and instead direct that lien, if any, be marked only on the specific disputed sum of Rs. 1,27,525/-, thereby allowing the Petitioners to operate the account for all other legitimate transactions;
3. Award costs of this petition and compensation for the loss and damage caused to the Petitioners by reason of the unlawful action of the Respondents; and This is a digitally signed order. 4. Pass any other order(s) and direction(s) as this Hon’ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case.”
2. There seem to be two primary grievances raised by the petitioner. One relates to de-freezing of the bank account, and another relates to unblocking/activation of the business mobile number by the concerned telecom service provider. 3. It is conceded by the parties that with respect to de-freezing of the bank account, the grievance stands mitigated. 4. What remains is activation of the business mobile number. The said request will have to be considered by the concerned telecom service provider in accordance with law. 5. Let the petitioner to make a representation within 10 days from today. Let the telecom service provider to deal with the same without any delay in accordance with the applicable policy. 6. Mr. Anand V. Khatri, learned ASC for the State, points out that the cyber cell has also informed the telecom service provider to unblock the mobile number. Let the same be also looked into by the telecom service provider.
7. If the grievance of the petitioner is not mitigated, the petitioner shall be at liberty to avail appropriate remedy in accordance with law. 8. With these observations, nothing remains to be adjudicated. Accordingly, the petitioner stands disposed of. Pending applications are also
disposed of.
