The petitioner has prayed for a writ of mandamus commanding respondent no. 2 to issue passport to her on the basis of application dated 11.3.2025. 2. The specific case of the petitioner is that she was issued a show cause notice by Regional Passport Office, Lucknow dated 28.3.2025 requiring clarification from her in respect of an adverse police verification report. According to the petitioner, there was only one NCR registered against her and in view of law laid down by a Coordinate Bench in Writ-C No. 41540 of 2023 (Pawan Kumar Rajbhar vs. Union of India and 2 others) and other connected matters decided on 19.01.2024, it would not be an impediment in grant of passport. The petitioner has submitted her clarification by the registered post on 8.4.2025 but still passport has not been granted. 3. The Passport Officer through his counsel has submitted written instructions dated 4.7.2025, according to which, verification report bears a remark to the effect 'not cleared' and the petitioner was issued show cause notice on 28.3.2025 in respect of the same but she has failed to submit any clarification. 4. The instructions furnished to the effect that the petitioner has failed to submit clarification, does not appear to be correct, as there is a postal receipt dated 8.4.2025, evidencing submission of clarification by the petitioner. The same has also been annexed as Annexure-3. 5. Accordingly, we dispose of the instant petition with direction to the Regional Passport Officer to dispose of the application of the petitioner for grant of passport within four weeks from the date of communication of the instant order, taking into consideration the reply of the petitioner sent to him by registered post on 8.4.2025, and which, the petitioner will again enclose while submitting copy of the order before the Passport Officer. .
