Mazumder, learned counsel for the petitioners; Ms. G. Hazarika, learned Standing Counsel, Revenue & Disaster Management Department for the respondent no. 1; Mr. N. Goswami, learned Junior Government Advocate, Assam for the respondent nos. 2 & 3. 2. The petitioners have approached this Court by the instant writ petition with a grievance that their application for Sale Permission/No Objection Certificate [NOC] is pending since 31.03.2024. 3. When the writ petition was listed on 10.02.2025, Mr. Goswami, learned Junior Government Advocate, Assam was asked to obtain instruction by today as to whether the application has been disposed of or is pending as on date. Today, Mr. Goswami has submitted, on instruction received from the District Commissioner, Sribhumi, that the Sale Permission/NOC in respect of the application filed by the petitioners has been granted. 4. As the Sale Permission/NOC has been granted by the jurisdictional District Commissioner, Sribhumi, there is no surviving cause of action to continue with the writ petition. In such view of the matter, the writ petition stands closed. It is, however, observed that in the event the petitioners are aggrieved in any manner as regards the Sale Permission/NOC, the petitioners will be at liberty to avail appropriate remedy under the law.
