The present writ petition has been filed seeking directions to the respondent authorities to take action for removal of illegal vendors/encroachments at Shree Ram Chowk, Mandawali, East Delhi (‘subject area’), which directly obstruct the petitioner and his family's right to free movement and passage. Counsel appearing for the respondent-MCD submits that encroachment removal drives have been taken place by the respondent- MCD at various points of time. 4. The encroachment removal drives were taken on 16th January, 29th January, 2026, 30th January, 2026, followed by another drive on 29th June, 2026, 3rd July, 2026, 13th July, 2026 and 5th August, 2026. 5. Taking note of the aforesaid submissions, the present writ petition is disposed of, while directing respondent-MCD and SHO, Police Station Mandawali Delhi to continue to take encroachment removal drives from time to time, to ensure that there is no unauthorized encroachment in the subject area and that the unauthorised encroachments that have been removed do not reoccur.
