Advocate 1/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.16511 of 2025 ORDER The petitioner, a Government contractor engaged in the supply of food grains and other food articles to various Government and semi-Government institutions, including Government hospitals, has approached this Court seeking a direction to the respondents to formulate a centralized policy governing the procurement of food grains and other food articles for Government hospitals. 2.The grievance of the petitioner is that, despite submitting a representation dated 04.01.2025, the respondents have not taken any steps to formulate such a centralized policy. 3.The learned Government Advocate, on instructions, has placed on record G.O.(D) No.914, Health and Family Welfare Department, dated 04.08.2009, wherein a policy decision has been taken that the existing diet system, including the nature of diet and the procedure for procurement, shall be modified in accordance with prevailing conditions and local requirements. 4.It is not in dispute that the said Government Order continues to hold the field as on date. However, liberty is reserved to the petitioner to challenge the aforesaid Government Order, if so advised. 6.Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of granting such liberty.
