WP No. 20473 of 2025 constructing over bridge with an escalator (SHU-86) The Grand Western Trunk Road at the Junction of Nelson Manickam Salai, demarked by the respondents. For Petitioner(s): Mr.A.Saravanan For Respondent(s): Mr.E.Veda Bagath Singh SGP
ORDER This writ petition has been filed for the issue of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to lay a service road before constructing a overbridge with an escalator at Grand Western Trunk road at the junction of Nelson Manickam Salai. 2. The grievance expressed by the petitioner is that he is the owner of the subject property and he has access to Poonamallee High Road only through front yard of his property. While so, the respondents are proceeding further with the project to connect an overbridge with an escalator. The grievance of the petitioner is that the ingress and egress of the petitioner will be completely curtailed, if such an overbridge is constructed without providing for a service road. 3. In this regard, the petitioner made a representation and yet another neighbour, who was also aggrieved, filed writ petition in W.P.No.4820 of 2024 before this Court, which was disposed of by an order dated 27.02.2024 to consider the representation and take a decision. 4. Pursuant to the same, the 2 nd respondent had called for an inquiry and an assurance was given that service road would be provided. Thereafter, since there was lack of further communication or developments from the side of the respondents, the present writ petition has been filed, seeking for appropriate directions. 5. When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents has produced the written instructions received from the respondents.

That apart, the communication of the 2 nd respondent dated 27.03.2024 was already placed before this Court and the relevant portion is extracted here under:
