Heard Mr. A Bhattacharyya, learned counsel for the applicants and Ms. N. Das, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, Assam. This is an application praying for suspension of sentence. The applicants Sri Baluram Chetia and Sri Dutiram Konwar were convicted by the learned Assistant Sessions Judge, Sivasagar in Sessions Case No. 10 (S-S) 2012. They were sentenced to simple imprisonment for five years and pay fine of Rs.500/-. The applicants are already on bail. Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel for both the sides, it is hereby
directed that the sentence imposed upon the applicants by the learned Assistant Sessions Judge, Sivasagar in Sessions Case No. 10 (S-S) 2012 shall remain suspended till disposal of the connected appeal. The applicants are allowed to remain on previous bail till disposal of the appeal. The IA(Crl) stands disposed of.
