Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the respondents. 2. The petitioner is one of the candidates for appointment as fair price shop dealer in number of lots. The respondent No.5/Naveen was selected as fair price shop dealer. Aggrieved with the aforesaid, the petitioner submitted a representation before the District Supply Officer, Gautam Budha Nagar/respondent No.3. 3. It is argued by learned counsel for the petitioner that considerable time has already been lapsed but till date no decision has been taken in the matter. 4. On the other hand, it is argued by learned Standing Counsel that the respondent No.3 will take a decision in the matter expeditiously. 5. Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record. 6. In the facts and circumstances of the case, the present petition is disposed of directing the District Supply Officer, Gautam Budha Nagar/respondent No.3 to take a decision in the matter most expeditiously and preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order. 7. Needless to say that before any decision in the matter, opportunity of hearing must be provided to the respondent No.5/Naveen.
