The affidavit-of-service as filed today on behalf of the writ petitioners is taken on record. 2. On behalf of the respondent/State, a report as submitted by the respondent No. 4/authority is filed and the same is taken on record. 3. In course of his submission, Mr. Tanmoy Mukherjee, learned advocate appearing on behalf of the writ petitioners submits before this Court that in respect of two ferry ghats, particulars of which has been mentioned in paragraph 3 of the instant writ petition, the period of settlement by e-auction process on and from the 1st day of Baishak 1429 B.S. to the last day of Chaitra of 1431 B.S. has already expired and thus by a representation dated 08.04.2025, a copy of which has been annexed at page No. 17 of the instant writ petition, the petitioner 2 requested the respondent No. 4/authority to take appropriate steps for floating a new tender in respect of the aforementioned two ferry ghats. 4. On perusal of the report as submitted by the respondent No. 4/authority, it reveals that it is the version of the respondent No. 4/authority in respect of aforementioned two ferry ghats, particulars of which has been mentioned in paragraph 3 of the instant writ petition, the issue of further settlement after expiry of the previous period of sanction is under consideration of the District authority pursuant to the provisions of West Bengal Land Reforms Manual, as amended up to date. 5. It thus appears to this Court that even after the expiry of the period of settlement in respect of the aforementioned two ferry ghats, the respondents/authorities, more specifically, the respondent No. 4/authority has not taken any steps for considering further settlement in respect of two ferry ghats, particulars of which has been mentioned in paragraph 3 of the instant writ petition. 6. In view of such, this Court while disposing the instant writ petition directs the respondent No. 4/authority to consider the representation dated 08.04.2025 in accordance with law and to take appropriate steps for further settlement of the aforementioned two ferry ghats by e-auction process 3 positively within thirty working days from the date of communication of the server copy of this order. 7. The time limit as fixed by this Court is peremptory and mandatory. 8. Liberty is given to the learned advocate on record to communicate the server copy of this order to the respondent No. 4/authority. 9. The respondent No. 4/authority is directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order. 10. With the aforementioned observation, WPA 8497 of 2025 is disposed of. 11. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties on urgent basis after completion of necessary formalities. (Partha Sarathi Sen , J.)
