This petition has been filed for directing the respondents to take a decision pursuant to the approval granted by the departmental promotion committee by means of minutes dated 30.05.2024 in respect of promotions of lecturers to the post of Head of Department (Interior Design and Decoration). The petitioner was eligible and was working on the post of lecturer. As per minutes of the aforesaid meeting, on page 47 of the writ petition, the petitioner had been found to be eligible for being promoted. The petitioner apparently is the sole candidate, who was approved for promotion. It is stated that by means of a letter dated 31.12.2024, 177 candidates have been appointed to the promotional posts but for inexplicable reasons the petitioner has not been promoted. 3. Learned Standing Counsel states that the decision will be taken by the competent authority on any representation that may be moved by the petitioner. 4. Under the circumstances this petition is disposed of permitting the petitioner to move an appropriate representation before the competent authority who would take a decision regarding promotion of the petitioner. 5. If such a representation is filed by the petitioner within a period of 15 days from today, along with the certified copy of this order, the competent authority will decide that representation expeditiously and preferably within a period of three months thereafter.
