1. Petitioner-Harminder Singh filed criminal writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of direction to official respondents No.2 and 3 to protect life and liberty of petitioner and his family members from the hands of respondent No.4

Learned counsel for petitioner pointed out that on the statement of Sonia, who is sister of present petitioner lodged, two FIRs i.e. FIR No.250 dated 08.12.2023 under Sections 363 and 366 of IPC (Sections 376, 212, 216 and 120-B as well as Section 4 of POCSO Act were added later on) registered at Police Station Navi Baradari, District Police Commissionerate, Jalandhar (Annexure P-1) and FIR No.95 dated 02.05.2024, under Sections 363 and 366-A registered at Police Station Navi, Baradari Police Commissionerate, Jalandhar (Annexure P-2) in which respondent No.4 Deepu is the accused. It is pointed out that respondent No.4 is absconding and no action has been taken against him in pursuance of said FIRs. 4. On advance notice, Mr. Japjot Singh, AAG, Punjab, appears and accepts notice on behalf of State.

Learned counsel representing State of Punjab has already received the copy of petition and the documents annexed therewith. He seeks two weeks time to dispose of the representation filed by the petitioner dated 12.05.2025 (Annexure P-4).
6. Considering the aforesaid factual position, present petition is
disposed of with direction to respondents No.2 and 3 to dispose of the representation dated 12.05.2025 (Annexure P-4) within a span of two weeks as per law. It is further directed that in case petitioner and his family apprehend threat to their life and liberty from the hands of respondent No.4 then the same may be considered and appropriate steps be taken as required.
7. Pending miscellaneous application, if any, shall also stands
disposed of accordingly.
