Sarmah, learned Senior Counsel assisted by Mr. D. Doley, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. J. Handique, learned Standing Counsel, Revenue Department for the respondent Nos. 1 & 2, Mr. T.C. Chutia, learned Additional Senior Government Advocate for the respondent Nos. 3, 4 & 5. 2. By way of the petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, the petitioner is canvassing the grievance of the appeal filed by the petitioner under Rule 162(c) of the Executive Instructions framed under the Assam Land and Revenue Regulation Act, 1886 being not taken up for a considerable time. 3. Today, when the matter was called, Mr. J. Handique, learned Standing Counsel, Revenue Department on instruction as per the last order of this Court has produced a copy of the letter dated 14.02.2025 issued by the Asstt. Director of Land Records, Assam, whereby it appears that the process of hearing the said appeal has been going on and the hearing of the appeal petition was taken Page No.# 3/3 up on 19.02.2025, i.e., Yesterday. 4. Mr. R.P. Sarmah, learned Senior Counsel also submits that the appeal has been finally moving and the hearing has started. 5. In view of the above, this writ petition can be disposed of with a direction to the Appellate Authority to conclude the appellate proceedings within a period of 2 (two) months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. 6. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. 7. A copy of the letter dated 14.02.2025 is kept on record and marked as ‘X’. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
