Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution praying for issuance of directions to official respondent Nos.2 & 3 to protect life and liberty of petitioner and his family members at the hands of respondent Nos.4 to 11. (2) Status report dated 22.08.2024 by way of affidavit of Gur Iqbal Singh (PPS), ACP, Ludhiana (South) on behalf of respondent Nos. 1 to 3 has already been filed and paragraph no. 6 of the same reads as under :-
“6. That furthermore, in compliance with the order dated 04-07-2024 issued by this Hon'ble High Court, whereby 1 KAVNEET SINGH 2025.07.03 18:40 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CRWP No.6241 of 2024 (O&M) Respondents Nos. 2 and 3 were directed to ensure the safety of the petitioner and his family from potential threats posed by Respondents Nos. 4 to 11, it is submitted that several precautionary measures were promptly implemented. The petitioner was provided with the contact numbers of Police Officials from PS Dehlon, Ludhiana, and instructions were given to the PCR vehicles to make rounds near the aforesaid property during their routine patrols in the area. And, the SHO, PS Dehlon was instructed by the deponent to respond immediately to any reports or information of threats against the petitioner or his family.” (3) It is further discernible from paragraph No. 13 of the petition itself that RSA No. 3382 of 2023 filed at the instance of predecessor-in- interest of the petitioner is already pending before this Court and further apprised by learned counsel for petitioner that status quo is operating as on today. (4) In view of the above, no ground is made out to entertain the present petition; hence the same is dismissed. (5) However, it is clarified that petitioner may, if so advised, take recourse to the remedy in accordance with law in case of any violation of interim stay granted in RSA No. 3382 of 2023 (supra). Pending application(s), if any, shall also stand disposed off.
