SANDEEP MOUDGIL, J (ORAL) The jurisdiction of this Court has been invoked under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for directing the official respondents nos.2 & 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of respondent no.4 to6. Learned State counsel submits that a speaking order dated 21.05.2025 has been passed on the representation submitted by the petitioners. A copy of the same has been supplied to the counsel for the petitioners. The relevant part of the order read as under:- “During enquiry, the above-mentioned individuals Baldev Singh, Jaspal Singh, and Sukhwinder Singh were contacted and their statements were recorded. They stated that they have no objection to the marriage of Gurdeep Kaur with Hardeep Singh, and that they have no intention of interfering in her personal life or causing her any harm. They further stated that after her marriage, Gurdeep Kaur MEENU 2025.05.22 08:46 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CRWP-5285-2025 -2- had been living peacefully and independently at her paternal home in Village Nogawa. It is also pertinent to mention here that despite repeated efforts, the complainant Gurdeep Kaur could not be contacted as she has not provided any mobile number or current address in her complaint. Therefore, her personal statement could not be recorded. In light of the above facts and the statements of the alleged persons, no threat perception has been found at this stage, and no further action is warranted in this matter. Accordingly, this complaint is being filed in the record room. A copy of this speaking order is being placed on the record. If the complainant is not satisfied with this speaking order, she may file an appeal after receiving this order ” In the light of above, learned counsel for the petitioners prays for withdrawal of the present petition. Prayer is accepted. Dismissed as withdrawn. However, the petitioners would be at liberty to avail alternate remedy by way of appeal as per notification No.HOME-HM-40 40SECM/14/2025-2H4/63 dated 23.01.2025 issued by the Department of Home Affairs, Punjab, Government of Punjab (Home-4 Branch).
