IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA AT CHANDIGARH 134-3 CR-3131-2025 (O&M) Date of Decision: 21.05.2025 M/s Jagota Bags & Material and another …Petitioners V/s Kasturi Lal …Respondent CORAM : HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE VIKRAM AGGARWAL Present: Ms. Taanvi Dhull, Advocate and Mr. Lakshay Bector, Advocate, for the petitioners. *** VIKRAM AGGARWAL, J (ORAL) The present revision petition assails the order dated 11.03.2025 (Annexure P-3) passed by the Court of Rent Controller, Ludhiana, vide which the application filed by the respondent-landlord seeking payment of rent which had accrued during the pendency of the eviction petition was allowed. 2. A perusal of the revision petition shows that an eviction petition was preferred by the respondent-landlord (Kasturi Lal) against the petitioners- tenants for eviction from a shop under the tenancy of the petitioners-tenants forming part of Property No.797/18-C, situated inside market, Street No.7, Old Madhopuri, Ludhiana. 3. Having argued the matter at some length, learned counsel for the petitioners, on instructions, submits that the petitioners do not wish to pursue the instant revision petition and that since the eviction petition is pending for the last almost three years and accordingly the rent which has accrued during the pendency of the eviction petition @ Rs.11850/- per month is due for the said period, the petitioners be granted three months time to pay the same. VIKAS CHANDER 2025.05.24 12.56 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CR-3131-2025 -2- 4. I have considered the submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioners. 5. The request appears to be reasonable to some extent. 6. Having perused the revision petition and keeping in view the statement given by learned counsel for the petitioners, the revision petition is dismissed as having been withdrawn. However, two months time is granted to the petitioners to pay the entire rent which has accrued during the pendency of the eviction petition, as ordered by the Rent Controller, Ludhiana. Pending application(s), if any, shall also stand disposed of.
