1.GP FOR SERVICES I The Court made the following ORDER: Heard Sri Srinivasa Rao Bodduluri, learned counsel for the petitioner ?
and Sri S.Raju, learned Assistant Government Pleader for respondents 1 to 3. The petitioner, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration), filed the above writ petition. A departmental inquiry was conducted against the petitioner in pursuance of the charge memo and the Inquiry Officer submitted a report to the disciplinary authority. Copy of the inquiry report was forwarded to the petitioner vide Memo No.314 (1200988)/SC.A/A2/2012-10, dated 12.12.2023 (Ex.P.7) directing the petitioner to submit an explanation. The petitioner submitted an explanation dated 15.11.2024 (Ex.P.8). 2. 2
3. A panel was prepared in the cadre of Additional Superintendents of Police (Civil) fit to act as Superintendents of Police for the panel year 2024-25 (Ex.P.6). In the said panel, the petitioner’s name is shown at SI.No.14. At the hearing,
learned counsel for the petitioner confined his
arguments and urged this Court to direct respondents 2 and 3 to consider the petitioner’s case for promotion in terms of G.O.Ms.No.257 General Administration (Ser.C) Department, dated 10.06.1999.
4. Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Services did not refute the submission of learned counsel for the petitioner.

Given the facts and circumstances of the case, without touching the merits of the matter, the Writ Petition is disposed of, at the admission stage, with the consent of learned counsel on either side directing respondents 2 and 3 to consider the petitioner’s case for promotion to the post of Superintendent of Police, if his case is in the zone of consideration, strictly in terms of G.O.Ms.No.257, dated 10.06.1999 whenever DPC is constituted; No order as to costs. As a sequel, pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
