Hon'ble Jayant Banerji,J. 1. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner. 2. This petition has been filed seeking the following relief:- "a. Issue writ, order or direction in the nature of certiorari quashing the impugned order dated 8.3.2025 passed by the respondent no.2 i.e. Additional Secretary, Secondary Education Board, Regional Office, Meerut against the petitioner (Annexure No. 1 to this writ petition). b. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding/directing the respondent no.2 i.e. Additional Secretary, Secondary Education Board, Regional Office, Meerut to make the necessary correction in the name of mother of th petitioner in certificate-cum- mark- sheet of High School Examination, 2011 bearing Roll No. 0686791 (Certificate No. 16020636) and Intermediate Examination, 2013 bearing Roll No. 0506734 and (Certificate No. 105281)." 3. Evidently, the petitioner cleared his High School and Intermediate Examinations in the year 2011 and 2013 respectively. In both these certificate, name of the petitioner's mother is shown as "Boby Verma". No efforts was made within the time fixed by the rules/regulation of the Intermediate Education Board for getting any name changed. Now, the petitioner has approached this Court seeking the aforementioned reliefs. 4. In considered opinion of the Court, it is for the petitioner to seek his remedy under common law by filing a suit for declaration. Only after obtaining such a decree he may approach the Board. 5. Under the facts and circumstances, this writ petition, given the observations of the Secretary of the Intermediate Education Board, U.P. in the impugned order dated 8.3.2025, merits no interference. 6.
