By way of the present petition, the petitioners seek quashing of FIR No. 0863/2023 dated 23.11.2023, registered at Police Station Keshav Puram, Delhi, for the offences punishable under Sections 420/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereinafter referred to as the ‘IPC’), and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom, on the basis of the settlement arrived at between the parties. 3. Issue notice. The learned APP accepts notice on behalf of the State. 4. The petitioners and Respondent No.2 are present through video conferencing and have been duly identified by their respective learned counsel as well as the Investigating Officer concerned. Briefly stated, the present FIR came to be registered on the complaint of Respondent No.2 against the petitioners under Sections 420/34 IPC. During the pendency of the proceedings, the parties, with the intervention of their respective family members and well-wishers, amicably resolved their disputes and entered into a Settlement Agreement dated 17.12.2024 before the Mediation Centre, Rohini Courts, Delhi. Pursuant to the settlement, the agreed settlement amount has been paid to Respondent No.2. Respondent No.2 has also agreed to cooperate in the quashing of the present FIR. It is stated that the present matter involves multiple victims; however, Respondent No.2 is the main complainant and the other victims have also furnished their no- objection to the quashing of the FIR. 6. Learned APP for the State submits that the present FIR involves multiple victims. It is, however, submitted that Respondent No.2 is the main complainant and the other victims have also given their no-objection to the quashing of the FIR. 7. On a query made by this Court, Respondent No.2, who is present through video conferencing and has been duly identified by his counsel as well as the Investigating Officer, categorically states that he has entered into the settlement out of his own free will and without any force, coercion, pressure or undue influence. He further states that he has received the entire settlement amount and has no surviving grievance against the petitioners. He has no objection if the present FIR and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. 8. In view of the fact that the parties have amicably resolved their disputes out of their own free will, the settlement has been acted upon, and Respondent No.2, being the main complainant, has no objection to the quashing of the This is a digitally signed order. Continuation thereof would only result in further litigation between the parties. In the facts and circumstances of the present case, it would be in the interest of justice to bring the proceedings to an end. 9. Accordingly, FIR No. 0863/2023, registered at Police Station Keshav Puram, Delhi, for the offences punishable under Sections 420/34 of the IPC, and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom, are hereby quashed. 10. The present petition is disposed of. Pending application(s), if any, also stand(s) disposed of. 11. Copy of the order be sent to the learned Trial Court for necessary information and compliance. 12.
