It is contended that the petitioners, their forefathers and their predecessors in title were in uninterrupted possession of the subject property for more than 60 years. Although the petitioners forefather’s have purchased the land through a different registered sale deeds in the year 1996, it is claimed that the property was held by the same joint family and is under cultivation of the joint family. Petitioner’s claim to be the successors of the original purchasers. 4. It is stated that the respondents' have unauthorizedly interfered with the petitioners' possession of the subject land, on the pretext that the land belongs to the Government. 5. No counter affidavit has been filed in the matter. 6. Having regard to the contentions advanced, this Court is of the considered view that the respondents shall not dispossess the petitioners from the subject land without due process of law. The respondents are directed not to interfere with the petitioner's possession without following the requisite legal procedures. 7. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
