1. The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking following reliefs:-
“10.1 That, the Hon’ble Court may kindly be pleased to call the records pertaining to the case from the respondent authorities. 2 10.2 That, this Hon’ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct the respondents to grant compensation to the petitioner towards seized trees with interest @ 12% per annum from the date of seizure of treest to the date of payment of compensation, in accordance with law. 10.3 That, the Hon’ble Court may kindly be pleased to grant any other relief which may be deem fit in the given facts and circumstances of the instant case including cost of litigation.”

Learned counsel for the Respondent/State on instruction submits that pursuant to the information gathered against the illegal felling of trees, proceedings have been initiated against the petitioner and when no satisfactory evidence has been produced finding that the trees have been illegally fell down, proceedings of confiscation was initiated and now, there is an order of confiscation, therefore, no relief as prayed for can be granted. In support of his contention, he placed before this Court the written information given by the Divisional Forest Officer, Forest Division Ambikapur dated 24.11.2025 for perusal. 3. Taking into consideration the submission made by the counsel for the Respondents/State and considering the fact that confiscation order has already been passed against the petitioner, I do not find any good ground to entertain this writ petition, accordingly, it is dismissed reserving liberty with the petitioner to take recourse of law as available to him. 4.
