Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents. 2. This petition has been filed seeking the following relief: "(i) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing to the respondent no. 2 and 3 to pay the gratuity amount to the petitioner in pursuance of duties performed by the petitioner on the post of Assistant Teacher in the institution in question. (ii) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing to the respondent no. 2 and 3 to pay all retiral dues to the petitioner in pursuance of duties performed by the petitioner on the post of Assistant Teacher in the institution in question." 3. However, the sole relief being pressed by the learned counsel for the petitioner is that a representation dated 22.6.2024 has been filed by the petitioner before the District Inspector of Schools, Bijnor seeking payment of gratuity but that representation is not being decided. 4. Learned Standing Counsel states that a decision will be taken by the District Inspector of Schools on the aforesaid representation. 5. That being the stand of the learned Standing Counsel, no useful purpose would be served in keeping the matter pending. This petition is, therefore, disposed of directing the District Inspector of Schools/competent authority to decide the aforesaid representation that has been stated to be served by registered post (enclosed as Annexure No. 6 to this petition) expeditiously and preferably within a period of two months from the date a certified copy of this order is filed before him.
