JUDGMENT The petitioner has approached this Court being aggrieved by the fact that the application filed by the petitioner for renewal of his arms licence (Ext.P5) has not been disposed of so far. It is stated that the application is pending from 04-08-2022.
2. The learned Government Pleader submits that the petitioner was involved in a crime where there is an allegation against the petitioner that the petitioner had used the firearm for threatening the complainant in that case.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the entire proceedings in the criminal case alleged to be pending against the petitioner have been stayed by this Court. It is submitted that even if any case has been registered against the petitioner, the 2nd respondent is bound to take a decision on the application filed by the petitioner for renewal of arms licence. The petitioner prays that a decision be taken on Ext.P5 without further delay.
2025:KER:30096 WP(C) 13277/2025 3 Having heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader and having regard to the limited nature of relief now sought for by the petitioner, this writ petition will stand disposed of, directing the 2nd respondent to consider and pass orders on Ext.P5, in accordance with the law, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this
judgment. I make it clear that I have not expressed any opinion on the merits of the matter.
