The petitioner has been made accused in connection with Complaint Case No. 24390 of 2024, for the offence registered under Sections 47(a) & 55 of the Excise Act, pending in the court of learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ranchi. Petitioner is the driver of the tanker bearing registration No. PB65AY- 2803, which was seized by the Excise Department. The vehicle was loaded with 25000 liters of spirit. It was submitted that petitioner is in custody for more than six months. It was further submitted that the cleaner of the vehicle namely Hardeep Singh has been granted bail by this Court in B.A. No. 1907/2025. It was finally submitted that offence alleged is triable by the Court of Judicial Magistrate. In view of the submission made above, I am inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, the petitioner, named above, is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ranchi, in connection with Complaint Case No. 24390 of 2024.
