This interlocutory application is preferred by the applicants for impleadment of Shri Jayanta Narlikar, IAS, the present Commissioner & Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Finance Department, Assam Sachivalaya, Dispur, Guwahati, as a contemnor in Cont.Cas(C) No.622/2019 pending before this Court. Mr. Bhattacharya, learned counsel for the applicants submits that during pendency of the contempt petition, the earlier incumbent was transferred and the present Page No.# 4/4 incumbent, Shri Jayanta Narlikar has assumed charge of the office and he is required to be impleaded here in this case as a contemnor and therefore, Mr. Bhattacharya has contended to allow this application. Having heard the submission of Mr. Bhattacharya, learned counsel for the applicants, I have carefully gone through the Cont.Cas(C) No.622/2019 and also the present application and the document enclosed therewith. Taking note of the submission of Mr. Bhattacharya, learned counsel for the applicants and also considering the facts and circumstances on the record, this Court is inclined to allow this interlocutor application. Shri Jayanta Narlikar, IAS, present Commissioner & Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Finance Department, Assam Sachivalaya, Dispur, Guwahati, be impleaded as contemnor in the Cont.Cas(C) No.622/2019. In terms of above, this I.A. stands disposed of. Accordingly, Mr. Bhattacharya, learned counsel for the applicants shall file amended cause title in the Cont.Cas(C) No.622/2019 within a period of one week from today.
