SANDEEP MOUDGIL, J (ORAL) The jurisdiction of this Court has been invoked under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India for directing the official respondents no. 1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of respondent no.4 to5. Learned State counsel submits that a speaking order dated 16.05.2025 has been passed on the representation submitted by the petitioners. A copy of the same has been supplied to the counsel for the petitioners. The relevant part of the
order read as under:-
“In the above-noted petition, the statements of Satnam Singh, son of Sukhwinder Singh, resident of village Kubanna, Sohana currently resident of village Mandoli, police station Kheri Gandian, district Patiala and Gudi Rani, wife of Satnam Singh and daughter of Shiv Patel, currently resident of village Mandoli, has be recorded And they told that we had gotten married on date 11.05.2025. Gudi Rani and Satnam Singh Above had filed a writ petition, CRWP No. 5094 of MEENU 2025.05.16 18:02 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CRWP-5094-2025 -2- 2025, in the Hon'ble Punjab and Haryana High Court. Chandigarh, to seek protection after expressing danger from the family. We both are living happily with our family in village Mandoli. Now we are not facing any kind of threat from anyone, and we do not need any security now; therefore, the writ petition numbered CRWP No. 5094 of 2025 filed by me should be filed in the office. ” In the light of above, learned counsel for the petitioners prays for withdrawal of the present petition. Prayer is accepted. Dismissed as withdrawn. However, the petitioners would be at liberty to avail alternate remedy by way of appeal as per notification No.HOME-HM-40 40SECM/14/2025-2H4/63 dated 23.01.2025 issued by the Department of Home Affairs, Punjab, Government of Punjab (Home-4 Branch).
