JUSTICE M.NAGAPRASANNA) 1. The petitioner is before this Court seeking the following prayer: A. To issue a Writ in the nature of mandamus directing the Respondent No. 1 to 5 to fix the Honorarium (Remuneration) for the service of Petitioner’s husband from 10-08-1990 to 25-08-2015 by considering the representation dated 12-08-2024 vide Annexure-E, E1 to E4 dated 11.08.2024 respectively. B. Issue any other writ or direction as this Hon’ble Court may deem fit in the interest of justice and equity. 2. Heard learned counsel Sri.Kirankumar S. Chattimath, appearing for petitioner and learned AGA-Sri.T.Hanumareddy, appearing for respondents. 3. The petitioner is appointed by the respondent No.5 as Dalapathi in the Home Department of the State. It transpires that during service the husband of the petitioner dies in harness. - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC-D:14872 WP No. 101594 of 2025 4. The wife submits a representation on 12.08.2024 seeking payment for honorarium that was fixed at Rs.1,000/- in terms of the Karnataka Village Defence Parties Rules, 1965, had not been paid to the husband and therefore, the wife submits a representation seeking such payment from 10.08.1990 to 25.08.2015. 5. The Learned AGA submits that appropriate action on verification of the records would be taken if reasonable time is granted to the State. 6. In the light of the said submission, without entering into the claim of the petitioner, the respondent-State shall verify the records as to whether the honorarium to the husband of the petitioner has been paid. If not paid, consider the representation and take action in accordance with law, at any rate within four months from the date of receipt of the copy of the order. Ordered accordingly.
