The present petition has been filed in public interest seeking a writ of certiorari quashing the award of contract of four-lane road between Houj to Line Bazar Naiganj in pursuance of office memo dated 03.05.2025 and to restrain the respondents from widening the existing road. 2. The case of the petitioner is that the land over which widening is to be carried out belongs to the forest department but its consent has not been taken. Certain environmental concerns have been raised. 3. The petitioner has not impleaded the forest department as a party to the instant proceedings. 4.
