G RAJU The Court made the following: :: ORDER :: The above contempt case has been filed complaining of the violation of the order dated 27.08.2024, passed in W.P.No.18714 of 2024. 2. Heard learned counsel appearing on either side. 3. The aforementioned writ petition was disposed of on 27.08.2024. The operative portion of said order reads as under: “Given the facts and circumstances of the case, since the Inspector General of Police addressed a letter to respondent No.2 and copy is marked to respondent No.1, without touching the merits of the matter, the Writ Petition is disposed of at the stage of admission with the consent of both the learned counsel, directing the learned respondent No.1 to pass appropriate orders regarding the claims made by the petitioner, strictly as per law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within eight (08) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.” 4. In the affidavit filed in support of the contempt case, it was pleaded that the respondent authorities have violated the order dated 27.08.2024. 5. Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that, pending the contempt case, a speaking order vide Memo.No.944(1756758)/SC.A/A2/2005, dated 24.01.2025, has been passed by the authority. 6. Since a speaking order has been passed by the authorities on 24.01.2025, this Court does not find any violation of the order dated 27.08.2024, passed in W.P.No.18714 of 2024, and the contempt case is liable to be dismissed. 7. Given the facts and circumstances of the case, the Contempt Case is dismissed. However, it is open to the petitioner to challenge the aforementioned speaking order if aggrieved. No order as to costs.
