1. By way of this petition, the petitioner has prayed for following reliefs:-
“10.1) The Hon’ble Court may kindly be pleased to sort of mandamus to the respondent authorities directing them to grant compassionate appointment to the petitioner. 10.2 The Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct respondent Authorities tο grant compassionate appointment to the instant petitioner in light of relevant documents replied upon by the petitioner. 10.3 The Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct the respondent authorities to consider the representations made by the petitioner for compassionate appointment and decide the same accordingly. 10.4 This Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct the respondent authorities to grant outstanding death- cum-retirement dues including gratuity, Pension etc in accordance with law. 10.5) Any other relief which this Hon'ble Court deems fit and proper may also kindly be granted to the petitioner, in the interest of justice.”

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner's mother unfortunately died in harness on 09.04.2017, and that the petitioner, acting promptly and within the prescribed time frame, submitted an application for grant of compassionate appointment on 19.06.2017, however, despite the lapse of a considerable period, the said application has remained pending and has not been decided by the authorities till date.
3. On the other hand learned counsel for the respondent/State opposes the same.
4. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the material available on record.
5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and further considering the fact that concerned respondent authorities are
directed to consider the case of the petitioner and to decide the same in accordance with law within a period of 45 days from the date of production of copy of this order.
