Satyen Vaidya, Judge (Oral) Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the case of the petitioners is squarely covered by the judgment passed by a Division Bench of this Court in LPA No. 165 of 2021, titled as State of H.P. and Ors. Vs. Surajmani and Anr., as the petitioners are seeking the benefit of grant of work charge status on completion of eight years of continuous daily wage service. 1 Whether reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the judgment? 2 2. It is further submitted that the judgment passed in LPA No. 165 of 2021 has been upheld by Hon’ble Supreme Court vide judgment dated 06.02.2025, passed in Civil Appeal No. 1595 of 2025. 3. In above backdrop, he submits that the petitioners are also entitled to be considered similarly by the respondents. According to him, petitioners shall be satisfied in case respondents are directed to consider the case of the petitioners in light of the judgment passed by Hon’ble Supreme Court in Civil Appeal No. 1595 of 2025, titled as The State of Himachal Pradesh and Ors. Vs. Surajmani and Anr., in a time bound manner. 4. Prayer being innocuous is allowed. 5. The petition is, accordingly, disposed of with the direction to respondent No. 2 to consider and decide the case of the petitioners strictly in terms of the judgment passed by Hon’ble Supreme Court in Civil Appeal No. 1595 of 2025, titled as The State of Himachal Pradesh and Ors. Vs. Surajmani and Anr., within a period of eight weeks from today by passing a detailed and speaking order. 3 6. Pending miscellaneous application(s) shall also stand disposed of.
