The land of the petitioner was acquired way back in the year 1989. An award was made on 17.04.1991. An application under Section 18 of Land Acquisition Act was made for referring the matter to the District Judge and the matter was referred in the year 1993, which was registered as Reference No.616 of 1993. The sole prayer made in the writ petition is for expeditious disposal of the reference which is pending since 1993. 2. Though Constitution Bench judgment of Apex Court in High Court Bar Association, Allahabad vs. State of Uttar Pradesh and others (2024) 6 SCC 267 held that Constitution Courts should refrain from fixing a time-bound schedule for the disposal of cases pending before any other courts but looking to the facts of the case that the case was of the year 1993 and more than 32 years have elapsed but Court concerned till date has not decided the said case, the Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation Authority, Gautam Buddha Nagar is hereby directed to proceed with Reference No.616 of 1993, and decide the same expeditiously, in accordance with law, after hearing all affected parties, within a period of six month from the date of production of certified copy of this order. 3. With the aforesaid directions, writ petition stands disposed of. 4. It is made clear that this Court has not adjudicated the matter on merits.
