The petitioner has been made accused in connection with Rania P.S. Case No. 14 of 2024, corresponding to G.R. Case No.360 of 2024(A), for the offence registered under Sections 385, 386, 387 & 120B/34 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 25(1-b)a, 25 (6), 26, 35 of the Arms Act and Section 17 of the CLA Act, pending in the court of Smt. Vidyawati Kumari, learned S.D.J.M., Khunti. On 16.04.2024 at about 9:45 p.m., Rania Police on the basis of confidential information raided a place near a forest area situated between Jalmandi and Gajna Road and apprehended co-accused persons. On search, firearms were recovered from their possession. It is alleged that the accused persons had assembled there and were making preparation for extorting levy from the local contractors and businessmen. It was submitted that though the petitioner is named in the F.I.R., but he was not apprehended at the spot. It was further submitted that several co-accused persons have been granted bail by this Court as well as by the Coordinate Bench of this Court earlier. In view of the submission made above, I am inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, the petitioner, named above, is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of Smt. Vidyawati Kumari, learned S.D.J.M., Khunti, in connection with Rania P.S. Case No. 14 of 2024, corresponding to G.R. Case No.360 of 2024(A). (Ambuj Nath, J.) BS/-
