HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:44324 WP No. 5945 of 2025
CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE SURAJ GOVINDARAJ ORAL ORDER
1. Petitioners are before this Court seeking for the following relief:
"Issue a writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ,
order or direction to expeditiously consider the Representation dated 06.07.2023 Bearing No. SGE/KHB/006/2023-24 vide Annexure-L, subsequently the Representation dated 21.08.2024 bearing no. SGE/KHB006/2023- 24 vide Annexure-M".
2. The grievance of the petitioners is that the representation dated 06.07.2023 at Annexure-L and the subsequent representation dated 21.08.2024 at Annexure-M have not been considered by respondent No.2 and necessary orders passed thereon despite a long lapse of time.
3. From perusal of the papers it is clear that the representation was submitted more than two years ago and still remain unconsidered by respondent No.2. Whenever any representation is submitted by a citizen to an authority, the same is required to be

considered and orders to be passed within a reasonable period of time either accepting or rejecting the representation.
4. Needless to say if an order of rejection is passed, the same would have to be accompanied by reasons. Neither having been done, I pass the following:
ORDER (i) Writ petition is allowed.
(ii) Respondent No.2 is directed to consider the representation dated 06.07.2023 at Annexure-L and the representation dated 21.08.2024 at Annexure-M within a period of 30 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
(iii) This Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the matter.
