Failure to fill up the backlog vacancies numbering 246, according to the petitioner, deprived the members of the marginalized communities from applying for the said posts. 3. In the counter-affidavit, the stand specifically taken is that the stand of the petitioner that 246 vacancies remained unfilled as backlog vacancies is erroneous. 2 HCJ & RCJ WP(PILL44_2024 t. It is stated that whereas in the earlier notification issued by the official respondents in the year 2011, the number of vacancies which had been calculated were 1468 approximately in which it was noticed that there was an error in calculation of the said vacancies which lead to the issuance of the Government Order bearing No. 195 dated 19.07.2013 wherein the number was reduced to 1221. y It is stated that ail these vacancies upto 2022 which were backlog vacancies have since been filled up. The vacancies if any remaining unfilled beyond 2022, it is stated, would be filled up in due course. In that view of the matter, we feel that nothing survives in the present petition, which is accordingly, closed. No order as to costs. 4.
