The prayer in the writ petition is to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondent-Tahsildar to consider the representation dated 05.10.2024 given by the petitioner at Annexure-A. In the representation, the - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:32284 WP No. 36015 of 2024 petitioner is contending that 4 acres in Sy.No.142/B5 of T.Emmiganuru Village, Talya Hobli, Holalkere Taluk, Chitradurga was granted to the petitioner’s husband late Sri.Hanumanthappa, and his name was entered in the RTC. It is contended that after the death of Sri. Hanumanthappa, the property devolved on the petitioner, who is the wife. Therefore, a direction is sought to the Tahsildar to enter the name of the petitioner in the revenue records. 3. Having regard to the prayer made in the writ petition and submissions of the learned counsel, this Court is of the considered opinion that respondent No.4- Tahsildar, Holalkere Taluk, is duty bound to consider the representation given by the petitioner and pass necessary orders for entering the name of the petitioner in the land records. Needless to observe that the Tahsildar shall verify the original grant register, the saguvali chit issue register, and other contemporaneous records to find out about the genuineness of the grant made in favour of the petitioner's - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:32284 WP No. 36015 of 2024 husband. If it is found that the grant made in favour of the petitioner's husband and revenue records stood in his name, the Tahsildar shall proceed to mutate the name of the petitioner in the land records. The respondent- Tahsildar shall look into the aspect of the legal heirs of the petitioner's husband and pass necessary orders in accordance with law. 4. The entire exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible and at any rate within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Ordered accordingly. 5.
