Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the proceedings regarding allotment of land is still pending consideration. According to the order sheet dated 05.12.2024 of the Additional Collector, Jashpur, the matter was forwarded to the Collector for appropriate directions. However, till date, neither the Collector has taken any decision nor issued any guidance with regard to the allotment of Government land on ownership, which is the subject matter of the proceedings pending before the revenue authorities. Learned counsel for the petitioner does not press this writ petition on merits and only seek that directions be issued to the concerned Collector to consider the matter, take a decision and apprise the concerned sub-ordinate revenue authorities accordingly, within a specified time. 3. Learned counsel for the State submits that as the petitioner is not pressing the writ petition on merits and is only seeking a direction to the 3 Collector i.e. respondent No.2 to consider the proceedings forwarded by the Additional Collector and to issue proper guidance and advice to the sub-ordinate revenue officer(s), he has no objection to the limited prayer. 4. From the proceedings and the documents placed on record in the writ petition as also from the submissions of learned counsel for the parties, it appears that the proceedings for allotment of Government land is still under consideration before the Collector. Therefore, I am not inclined to consider the claim of the petitioner on merits and deem it appropriate to dispose of this writ petition with certain direction(s). 5. On due consideration of the submissions made by learned counsel for the parties, particularly considering the submission of learned counsel for the petitioner seeking a direction to respondent No.2 to consider and issue guidance to the sub-ordinate revenue authorities in the proceedings for allotment of Government land pending before them, this Court directs respondent No.2 to take decision in accordance with law, expeditiously, preferably within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6. With the aforesaid direction(s)/observation(s), the Petition is disposed of. Sd/- (Parth Prateem Sahu) Judge Priyanka
