At the very outset, learned Standing Counsel raises a preliminary objection with regard to maintainability of the writ petition on the ground that the petitioner has moved an application for compounding in pursuance of the Government Order dated 26.12.2024, which was applicable to the pending cases, but in the case in hand, the Collector passed the order on 15.10.2014, against which, as per instruction, no appeal was preferred, nor the petitioner has mentioned anything in the writ petition that some cases are pending. Confronted with the said fact, learned counsel for the petitioner comes up with a prayer to withdraw the writ petition at this stage.
